Moe was a founding member and Secretary-Treasurer of The Toronto Export Club from about 1985 to 1990. This business organization was one of the largest, in the Province of Ontario, for international business people as well as government and financial officials to network and meet and discuss business. Mr. Irshad worked very hard to shape this international business club, which is still going very strong and continues to assist Canadian business people.
Mr. Irshad was also the founding member and a Director of the Canada-Indonesian Business Counsel (C-IBC). It was a very well recognized organization by both the Canadian and Indonesian governments and its Foreign Trade Departments and offices. It hosted many large trade delegations from Indonesia. He was involved with this international organization from about 1984 to 1986.
Mr. Irshad was a founding member, Director, Secretary-Treasurer and finally a Vice Chairman of the Ontario Division of the Canada-Pakistan Business Counsel (C-PBC) from 1987 to 1992. He worked very diligently to bring this very important business trade organization from a modest to a large international business group, with a capacity to host medium to large trade delegations from Pakistan to Canada. He also, at the same time, organized many trade missions from Canada to Pakistan and also had the opportunity to participate in some of these trade missions from Canada to Pakistan. He stepped down in 1992 and this organization is still active but is operating on a somewhat smaller scale compared to its previously larger activities.
Mr. Irshad was a founding Director of the Canada – Bangladesh Business Counsel (C-BBC). He was involved with this organization from 1988 to 2006 and served as its Director and Vice-Chairman. He is still involved with this business club as a special advisor. C-BBC has hosted many trade delegations and trade shows from Bangladesh to Canada. These trade shows are normally held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto.
He was appointment by the Minister of Health Ontario as a Public Council member of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) from June 2008 to April 2012. He is involved in many inside CPO established committees to check and keep public safety a top priority at CPO. M. Moe Irshad is presently involved in local community affairs along with municipal, provincial and national governments to help and improve our area for future generations.
He is Co-founder, along with other prominent community members, of an inter-faith organization called “ Interfaith Community Building Initiative ” (“ ICBI”) . This group encourages continued dialogue among different religious beliefs to work together for the betterment of the community at large.
